W. is the result of a design paradigm, which says “subtraction adds value”: “Less is more”. The less in the aesthetic synthesis of the single elements, the more in the strength of the wood material. Redesigning the type of chair that is one of the most popular in the history of design: the Windsor Chair. W 605 is a chair designed by Fabrizio Gallinaro and made of a solid beech wood frame, available in natural or walnut colours.
The classic Windsor chair fits the contemporary spirit of Billiani. Thus was born W., who already from his name declares the process of reduction and subtraction of which he is the result. Among the most prolific types of chairs in the history of design, it is characterized by the unmistakable backrest with a curved horizontal element and strips that are inserted into the seat, where the material is reduced to the limit and the inclinations and relationships between the parts are redesigned. Contemporary classic, W. is declined in a series of variants including the rocking chair.
